The Honor 30S smartphone has just made its debut in China, as scheduled. This new, mid-range smartphone from Honor is one of the first devices in the industry to feature HiSilicon’s new chipset, the Kirin 820. The Honor 30S also marks the brand’s first 5G smartphone in the Honor 30 lineup of devices. Let us have a look at the price, availability details, and specifications of the Honor 30S.

Honor 30S Price, Availability

The Honor 30S is priced at CNY 2,399 (Approximately INR 23,999) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version. There is also an 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant on offer; it costs CNY 2,699 (Approximately INR 26,999). The Honor 30s is currently up for pre-orders in China and it will go on sale in the country on April 7. The brand hasn’t revealed the availability details of the Honor 30S for markets outside China.

Honor 30S Specifications

Unlike most mid-range smartphones in the market that come with an AMOLED display, the Honor 30S makes use of more affordable screen technology, an IPS LCD. The display is a 6.5-inch Full HD+ unit with a punch-hole mounted to its top-left corner.

The Honor 30S makes up for the lack of AMOLED screen with its comparatively-advanced rear camera setup. The device has a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and 2MP depth sensor. At the front, you get a 16MP camera.

Powering the smartphones, as I said earlier, is the Kirin 820 chipset. This SoC from HiSilicon is one of the most powerful mid-range chipsets in the market. It has four Cortex-A76 cores, four Cortex-A55 cores, and a Mali-G57 6-core GPU. Thanks to all this processing power, the Kirin 820 manages to beat two leading mid-range chipsets in the market – the SD765G and Exynos 980 – in AnTuTu performance benchmark test. Anyway, there is 8GB of RAM onboard and option to choose from 128GB or 256GB storage. The smartphone runs on Android 10 OS but it doesn’t come with GMS.

The Honor 30S packs a 4000mAh battery with an impressive 40W wired fast charging. As I mentioned above, the device has 5G connectivity with dual-mode (SA/NSA) support. The smartphone is available in black, blue, green, and gradient color variants.
