Honor is reportedly readying to launch the Honor 8C, the affordable yet capable Android smartphone in India. Interestingly, the Honor 8C, which recently started selling in China, could arrive to the Indian shores as early as next week.
The Honor 8C, which is also known as the Honor Play 8C, officially launched in China last month. Huawei’s majorly online sub-brand has been successfully trying some interesting combinations of specifications, features, and the brand reputation, to offer capable smartphones that are surprisingly light on the wallet. The Honor Play 8C is one such device that rides high on the popularity of the Honor Play, a powerful budget-focused Android gaming smartphone that comes with GPU Turbo feature and Huawei’s top-notch HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset.
Honor 8C Expected Price, Availability In India
The Honor 8C officially launched in China on October 11, and soon after, the company started selling the handset in the region. The device initially launched in three colors: Magic Night Black, Aurora Blue, and Platinum Gold. But Honor added another color, Nebula Purple.
Industry sources who spoke to Indo-Asian News Service or IANS indicated Honor will officially launch the Honor 8C, which could also be named as Honor Play 8C, in India next week. Moreover, the company could start accepting orders immediately after the release of the device in the country. As has been the norm with Honor, the Honor 8C could sell on the company’s official Indian e-commerce platform, HiHonor.in. Honor may also partner with one of the leading Indian e-commerce platforms to sell the device.
The Honor Play 8C 4GB/32GB variant costs CNY 1,099 (Rs. 11,800 approx.). The 4GB/64GB variant is a priced slightly higher at CNY 1,399 (Rs. 15,000 approx.). Strangely, reports about the device claim the company could launch a 6GB/64GB variant of the Honor 8C as well.
Incidentally, India appears to be the first international region to get the Honor 8C. We expect Honor may retain the proportional pricing, and perhaps add a few attractive offers to lure customers away from competing companies like Xiaomi, Nokia, and other similarly priced handsets from Oppo’s Realme sub-brand.
