Honor 8X India Launch Set For October 16, Goes Global Starting Today With Dubai Event
Honor has confirmed that it will be launching the 8X in India at an event in New Delhi on the 16th of this month. The smartphone is being launched today in the UAE and Spain.
Last month, Huawei sub-brand Honor unveiled the Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max Android smartphones at an event held in China. While the Honor 8X is currently on sale only in China, Honor will soon begin the global rollout of the smartphone. The first market where the Honor 8X is being launched is the United Arab Emirates, where the Honor 8X will be formally launched at an event in Dubai at 19.45 PM IST. Apart from Dubai, the Honor 8X will also be launched in Madrid, Spain today.

Honor 8X: Global Launch Events Start in Dubai, Watch Live Streaming
The Honor 8X global launch kicks off at 19.25 PM IST today in Dubai. Honor will be live streaming the event, so you will be to watch it live on YouTube. Honor is also going to run a contest during the launch today, wherein fans can win exciting prizes, including an Honor 8X smartphone. In order to participate in the contest, you will need to watch the live stream and tell Honor your favorite feature of the Honor 8X. You will also need to guess the price of the Honor 8X. The other prizes include Honor Music Egg portable Bluetooth speaker, Honor Band 3, and Honor xSport AM61 Bluetooth headset. Awards will be randomly distributed every 8 minutes.
The Honor 8X will be launched in the Indian market at an event in New Delhi on the 16th of this month. While availability details will only be shared at the launch event later this month, it is likely that the smartphone will go on sale in India by the end of this month. Apart from India, the Honor 8X will be launched this month in a few other markets as well. It will be launched in Malaysia on October 9th, Russia on October 10th, Czech Republic on October 11th, and in Thailand on October 24th.
In terms of hardware specifications, the Honor 8X is a significant upgrade when compared to the Honor 7X that is on sale in India currently. As a result, Honor may decide to price the Honor 8X at a slight premium when compared to the Honor 7X. That said, we do expect the 4GB RAM variant of the Honor 8X to be priced under the Rs.15,000 mark. On the other hand, the 6GB RAM variant will no doubt be priced around Rs.18,000 in the country.

Honor 8X: Specifications, Features
The Honor 8X features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD FullView display with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset clocked at up to 2.2 GHz with an ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. In the memory department, the smartphone comes in two variants – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. Rest of the key features include a 20MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the rear, 16MP selfie camera, and a 3750mAh capacity battery. The smartphone also includes a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. In terms of software, the Honor 8X runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 out of the box.
