The Honor 8X is a capable mid-range Android smartphone from Honor. The smartphone will sell exclusively on Amazon India. However, it is quite likely that Honor’s Indian e-commerce platform HiHonor may list the smartphone as well. The Honor 8X could sport a price around the Rs. 20,000 mark. Honor has been a very active player in the Indian smartphone market with multiple exciting launches this year alone. In fact, Honor is among the top two brands in the online segment.

Honor 8X Launch Live Streaming

Honor has set up a dedicated live stream for today’s launch. The launch is scheduled to start at 11:30 AM. The unveiling event will be broadcasted live on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. The launch will take place in New Delhi. Incidentally, Huawei is holding another launch event in London as well, but the company will launch the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20X and Mate 20 Porsche Design smartphones.

Honor 8X Specifications, Features

The Honor 8X comes with a 6.5-inch water drop notch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone boasts a screen-to-body ratio of more than 91 percent. The TUV Rheinland certified screen also packs blue light protection feature. The handset has 2.5D glass on the front and an aluminum frame.

The HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor powers the Honor 8X. The capable mid-range chipset is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. There’s a dedicated micro-SD card slot available as well. There’s a base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, and a middle variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage as well, but Honor may not launch the same in India.

The Honor smartphone packs 20MP + 2MP dual camera setup stacked vertically on the back. There is an f/2.0 aperture, 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. AI-powered features such as scene recognition, portrait mode, slow-motion video shooting, and time-lapse photography are present.

A relatively large 3750mAh battery powers the Honor 8X. The smartphone supports Fast Charging. Honor is offering a 10W Fast Charger as well. Incidentally, the device has a standard micro-USB port instead of USB Type-C. A fingerprint reader is present on the backside of the phone.

The Honor smartphone will come with Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top. However, the most important feature will undoubtedly be the ‘GPU Turbo’ that promises some substantial boost in gaming performance without significantly impacting battery life.
