Last month, Huawei sub-brand Honor, unveiled its latest mid-range smartphones, the Honor 8X and the Honor 8X Max. And now, the phones are going to be available for purchase in India. The company is launching the phones in the Indian sub-continent tomorrow.
You will be able to purchase the phone from Amazon India. We aren’t sure about the price, but it is expected to cost less than Rs. 20,000. In this post, we are going to talk about the Honor 8X. This mid-range smartphone is a competitor to plenty of phones in India, and here are 5 features that make it a good pick.
Large Display
The Honor 8X comes with a large display, which makes it an entertaining power house. It has a 6.5-inch LCD display with Full HD+ resolution, slim bezels, and a notch at the top. This almost makes it a phablet, and puts in the league of smartphones such as the Galaxy Note 9 and the iPhone XS Max, in terms of display size of course.
Design
The design on the Honor 8X is also pretty impressing. It already features slim bezels, chin, and a notch, which makes it look all screen at the front. The back is made out of 2.5D textured aurora glass, and the frame is made from aluminium. The textured back gives out several reflective patterns and makes the phone look very premium.
Hardware
Honor has powered the phone with the latest octa-core Kirin 710 processor, which is a very good mid-range processor. It will be available with up to 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. There’s a microSD card slot available as well. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back of the phone, along with the dual-camera setup.
Dual-Camera
At the back of the phone, you will find a dual-rear camera setup. There’s a primary 20MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, which is great for daylight, and low-light photography. It is paired with a 2MP depth sensor, which will help in taking portrait photos with the bokeh affect. On the front, there’s a 16MP sensor for the selfie enthusiasts. There’s plenty of AI help available to make the cameras a little better. The AI will be able to recognize about 500 scenes across 22 categories. The front camera is also used for the Face Unlock feature.
Battery and OS
Although the phone has a large display, it doesn’t have a large battery. It comes with a 3750mAh battery, which supports fast charging. The battery should be sufficient for a days usage, nothing more than that. In the software department, the Honor 8X will comes with Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top. The phone will also come with the GPU Turbo tech from Huawei, which should help improve gaming performance.
There you go, the top 5 features of the upcoming Honor 8X, which should tell you why it is an interesting pick among other phones in the mid-range segment.
