Honor has announced that it has struck a deal with Netflix to preload the popular streaming service on its Honor 8X device. Not only that, but the deal sees Honor the ability to provide a 1080p playback experience on its devices following the November 2018 update.

Honor spokesperson, Mr. P Sanjeev, recently showcased the Kirin 980 SoC and the latest Honor 8X that form an ‘AI Life’ theme at IMC showing the ability of artificial intelligence. The latest addition of 1080p streaming further enhances the package and appeal of the Honor 8X.

Honor 8X: Specifications, Features

The Honor 8X is arguably one of the best budget-friendly devices with a larger display launched this year. It sports a large 6.5-inch display with Full HD+ resolution, which makes it perfect for media consumption and why the Netflix deal makes sense. The Honor 8X has an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 91% and helps compact that large screen into a smaller body. It measures 160.4 x 76.6 x 7.8mm and weighs 175 grams. The Honor 8X has a glass body with an anti-glare film boasts GPU Turbo technology to boost gaming performance. It runs on HiSilicon’s latest 12nm mid-range Kirin 710 octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.2 GHz with an ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU.

In terms of the camera, the Honor 8X comes with a 20MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the rear that features AI multi-scene recognition and AI beauty effect. In addition, the Honor 8X offers Super Slow-motion video capture at 480fps. For selfies, the smartphone features a 16MP resolution front camera with 4-in-1 Light Fusion technology. As for the battery, the Honor 8X provides decent battery life thanks to a 3750mAh capacity battery with an intelligent battery-saving system but is unfortunately absent of any fast charging capability.

Honor 8X: Price in India

In India the Honor 8X is priced at INR 14,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage version costs INR 16,999. Since Xiaomi is yet to launch the Mi Max 3 in India, the Honor 8X has no real rival as of now and is a perfect device if you prefer devices with a larger screen and have a budget of around INR 15,000, it is a no-brainer to get the Honor 8X. The Honor 8X is currently available in Black, Blue, Red, and Purple colors in China. In India, however, Honor currently offers the 8X in only two colors: Black and Blue.
