Recently, Huawei announced a series of its recently-launched and older smartphones to get onboard with the Android 9 Beta testing program. While the Chinese smartphone maker has pushed a significant number of devices for the beta testing of the OS, the Honor 8X still does not make the cut. However, the smartphone gets the October Security patch with the latest update. While we wait for the next batch to include Honor 8X for the beta testing program, meanwhile, let’s check out what the latest update brings to the table.

Honor 8X Latest Update Changelog

Well, there is not much to discuss here as the changelog mentions only a handful of upgrades. With the October 2018 security patch being the highlight, we have WeChat payment fingerprint support, gesture navigation, and other minor updates. With the arrival of gesture navigation, the device would be easier to operate and the users will be able to leverage the large display of the smartphone.

As far as the WeChat fingerprint payment support is concerned, Honor is finally able to resolve the issue of unsecured uploading of the fingerprint data to the cloud. The company has introduced hardware-level security solutions to processes all the data at the phone’s local TEE OS security system. The update is available for download, you can head over to the system settings on your Honor device and get it.
