Honor 9 Lite: New Software Update Brings GPU Turbo Technology, Call Recording Bug Fix

The new software update for the Honor 9 Lite arrives as version 8.0.0.177. Oddly, the previous update for the smartphone arrived as version 8.0.0.187. This could mean that the 8.0.0.177 is actually an older update compared to the 8.0.0.187 version. According to the update changelog, the software update adds the GPU Turbo technology to the smartphone, which has been rolling out to several Huawei and Honor smartphones over the last few weeks. Once you install the update on your Honor 9 Lite, you can expect to see a noticeable improvement in gaming performance. Apart from the new feature, the update fixes a bug with call recording when OK Google is enabled.

Additionally, the update comes with the latest Android security patch. As with any OTA update, it might take a few days before the update becomes available for all Honor 9 Lite owners. Once the update becomes available for your phone, you can expect to see a pop ups for notification on your screen. Alternatively, you can check for the update manually by heading over to the Settings Menu.
