After a series of speculations and last minutes leaks, Huawei’s Honor 9X line-up is finally official. The company revealed the successors of the Honor 8X line-up in China. Compared to its predecessor, the new Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro flaunt a more stylish look. Both these phones feature a glass back with reflective gradient hues. The blue and red variants feature a unique X pattern on the back. The best part, however, is the motorized pop-up selfie camera. Because of this mechanism, the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro sport a full-screen premium OLED screen without any notch or punch-hole. All these design changes and improvements do come at a price though. But, before we discuss that, let us have a look at the specifications.

Honor 9X And 9X Pro Specifications

The Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro not only look similar but also pack-in similar hardware. For starters, these two phones sport the same 6.6-inch FHD+ OLED display. These Full-HD panels have the resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. Thanks to the pop-up camera mechanism, these screens do not have any notch. In terms of processing might, the Honor 9X series relies on in-house Kirin 810 chipset. This 7 nm chip comprises of two Cortex-A76 performance cores and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. The gaming bit is handled by the Mali-G52 GPU.

The first significant difference comes in terms of the RAM. The Honor 9X comes in 4 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage, 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The Pro version comes with a whopping 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB and 256 GB internal storage to choose from. Additionally, both these handsets come with a microSD card slot.

Moving onto the camera department, you get a triple camera setup on the Honor 9X Pro while the Honor 9X settles for a dual-camera module. Both the devices feature a 48 MP primary sensor accompanied by a 2 MP depth sensor. The Pro variant gets an additional 8 MP wide sensor, which is missing on the Honor 9X. For selfies, both devices are equipped with a 16 MP shooter.

Both the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro house a 4,000 mAh battery. These phone cover essential connectivity features such as 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, and USB Type-C port. On the software front, you get Huawei’s latest EMIUI 9.1 based on Android 9.0 Pie.

The Honor 9X series has been unveiled for the Chinese market. The Honor 9X will is expected to hit the stores at the end of this month whereas the Honor 9X Pro will start shipping on August 9.

Coming to the subject of pricing, the Honor 9X base variant with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage costs 1,399 Chinese yuan, which translates to Rs 14,000. For 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, shoppers will have to spend 1,599 yuan (approx. Rs 16,000). Twice the storage will set you back by 1,899 yuan, which is roughly Rs 19,000.

Huawei has pegged the Honor 9X Pro with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage at 2,199 yuan, which is equivalent to Rs 22,000. Finally, the top variant with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage costs 2,399 yuan (approx. Rs 24,000).
