Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has finally unveiled the Honor 9X Pro smartphone in India. The Honor 9X Pro is essentially a mid-range device, which makes it fall into an ultra-competitive price segment of Android smartphones in the country. The price point the Honor 9X Pro is being offered at, puts it right into competition with the likes of smartphones like the Realme 6 and the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

Starting with the Honor 9X Pro, the device is launched in a single memory variant in the country, which has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The device is priced at INR 17,999 in India.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro, on the other hand, is priced at INR 12,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant and INR 15,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant.

Lastly, the Realme 6 is priced at INR 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant, INR 14,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant, and INR 15,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant.

When it comes to pricing, the base variant of the Realme 6 and the Redmi Note 9 Pro smartphones will cost you the least in India.

Coming to the displays of the devices that we are comparing today, the Honor 9X Pro features a 6.59-inch Full-View display with a Full HD+ resolution and a pop-up selfie camera.

The Realme 6, on the other hand, offers a 6.5-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD panel with a higher 90Hz refresh rate.

Lastly, the Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with a relatively large 6.67-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio.

When it comes to displays, there are a lot of factors one has to consider before making a buying decision. The Honor 9X Pro offers a pop-up selfie snapper, meaning that the front of the device is occupied mostly by the display. The Realme 6 has a single punch-hole cutout display and a higher refresh rate. The Redmi Note 9 Pro has the largest display amongst these three smartphones.

The Honor 9X Pro is powered by the company’s in-house Kirin 810 processor. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset. Lastly, the Realme 6 is equipped with a 2.05GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T chipset. When it comes to processing, both Snapdragon 720G and Helio G90T offer decent mid-range performance.

Coming to the software, all three smartphones that we are comparing today offer different skins on top of Android 10. The Honor 9X Pro ships with EMUI, Realme 6 Pro ships with Realme UI, and the Redmi Note 9 Pro ships with MIUI 11. The Honor 9X Pro features a triple rear camera setup, which consists of a 48MP primary lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. At the front, the Honor 9X Pro features a 16MP pop-up selfie snapper.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro has a quad rear camera setup, which includes a 48MP primary wide-angle camera (with night mode), an 8MP ultrawide camera with a 119-degree Field of View, a 2MP depth sensor with AI portrait mode, and a 5MP macro camera with up to 2cm focus distance. At the front, the device comes with a 16MP selfie shooter.

Lastly, the Realme 6 flaunts quadruple rear camera setup – a 64MP Samsung GW1 wide-angle camera (f/1.8) + an 8MP ultrawide lens (f/2.3) + a 2MP B&W portrait lens (f/2.4) + a 2MP macro camera (f/2.4). At the front, the Realme 6 sports a 16MP selfie shooter.

When it comes to camera comparison, resolution count does not count for everything, but we would still have to give it to the Realme 6, owing to a 64MP primary lens.

The Honor 9X Pro sports a 4,000mAh battery with support for fast charging. The Realme 6, on the other hand, boasts a 4,300mAh battery, which has support for up to 30W of fast charging. Lastly, the Redmi Note 9 Pro features a massive 5,020mAh battery, but with a relatively slower 18W charging.

When it comes to battery comparison, if you want faster charging on your smartphone, the Realme 6 is the one to go for. The Redmi Note 9 Pro, on the other hand, will offer a slower charging speed, but it will compensate for that with its 5,020mAh battery.

All three smartphones that we compared today offer decent value-for-money specifications and features. If you want a higher refresh rate smartphone, the Realme 6 is the one to go for. It also offers the fastest charging amongst the three smartphones that we have compared. If you want a large display smartphone, the Redmi Note 9 Pro offers you just the same. Adding to it, it has the largest battery among the three smartphones.
