Honor Band 5

It was back in September 2018 that Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced the Honor Band 4 in China. It was subsequently launched in India as well. With just 2 months left for the first anniversary since its launch, we have received reports of Honor reportedly working on the successor to the Band 4. As you might have guessed by now, this new product will be called the Honor Band 5. In fact, Honor President George Zhao recently teased an image of what is believed to be an upcoming fitness band from the company. This new band, according to many, is in fact, the soon-to-be-launched Honor Band 5.

Honor Band 5: What can we infer from the leaked image?

According to GSMArena, the image of this new band was first teased by George Zhao on the Chinese social media website Weibo. This image was subsequently posted by other publications across the rest of the globe.

From the image, it is evident that this new product bears a close resemblance to the Honor Band 4. It gets a decently sized display – which most likely is an OLED panel – and is accompanied by a round button at the bottom of the display. If the product is indeed the Honor Band 5, it will also support all the features that the existing product has. This means that the Honor Band 5 will come with a heart rate monitor and will also measure your blood oxygen levels. The band will also be able to monitor your sleep and will also be able to detect fatigue, listlessness, dizziness, and of course, monitor your sleep. As for the rest of the features, at this point, we can only make calculated guesses.

Honor Band 5: Expected launch date, pricing

If you recall, the launch of the Honor Band 4 late last year coincided with that of the Honor 8X. With Honor readying the launch of the Honor 9X on July 23, there is a good chance that the Honor Band 5 would be announced alongside this new device. The Honor Band 5 is likely to be initially launched in China and the India launch should happen in the next few months here in India. We expect the Honor Band 5 to be priced similarly to the older model. This means we can expect the Honor Band 5 to be priced below the INR 3,000 mark at launch.
