As we head towards the end of October, most of the flagship launches are done and dusted. There’s still a few of them to look forward to. OnePlus has rescheduled its launch event to 29 October and the Mi Mix 3 is all set for an October 25 curtain raiser in Beijing. Then there’s the Honor Magic 2 launching on October 31 which will perhaps be overshadowed by Apple’s event a day before. The Honor Magic 2 is one of those rare breed of slider camera phones like the OPPO Find X that come with an extremely high screen-to-body ratio. Honor teased the phone at IFA 2018 and now the handset has astonishingly popped up on TikTok of all places.

From the video clip that is below, It can be seen that there are two devices in either hand of the user with different colour shades. Perhaps the purpose of the video is to demonstrate the durability of both the slider and the rear of the device as the user does not hesitate to bang the phone on the surface trying to make sounds in tune with the music of the background. Regardless, it’s a very strange place for the device to pop up online. Besides the slider mechanism, the video gives up no further details than the scarce ones we already know. This is also surprising since the handset should have appeared on TENAA by now since the launch is on October 31.

From the official presentations, we’re well aware that the Honor Magic 2 will be nothing short of a flagship stuffed with Honor’s cutting edge technology. This also includes a 40W “Magic Charge” feature which is obviously borrowed from parent Huawei. However, Honor’s Magic also had a promising fast charge feature that was way ahead of its time. So, there could be a twist in the tale. The Honor Magic 2 will be driven by Huawei’s latest HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC, the first 7nm chip as far as the Android ecosystem is concerned.

Apart from that, the most recent leaked images have hinted that the handset will also feature a triple camera setup at the back which would make it the first Honor device to do so. There’s no way to authenticate these images as there is absolutely no information in this regard. The only way is to wait for the launch event that takes place on October 31.
