Honor is ready to announce a new foldable smartphone in the market. It has confirmed the launch date for the Honor Magic Vs2. It is a phone that will succeed the Magic Vs from the last year. The company will also take wraps off the Honor Watch 4 Pro smartwatch at the same event in China. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming products.
Honor Magic Vs2 and Honor Watch 4 Pro Launch Date Revealed
Honor has posted on Weibo that the Honor Magic Vs2 and Honor Watch 4 Pro will launch on October 12. Both these products will go official later this week in China. It is unknown if and when the company will introduce the new foldable and smartwatch in global markets.
The launch announcement confirms the Magic Vs2 will be thinner and lighter than the predecessor. For comparison, the Magic Vs has a 12.9mm thickness and weighs 261 grams. Any improvement in these numbers will be beneficial for users as it is a book-style foldable. The change will make it more convenient to carry around the foldable.
The Magic Vs2 was recently spotted on the Geekbench website which gave us an idea of what to expect. The listing showed the upcoming foldable will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and 16GB of RAM. It managed to score 1648 and 4201 in single-core and multi-core tests respectively.
Another listing from the 3C certification website reveals it will have 66W wired fast charging. These specifications are identical to the Magic Vs suggesting the Magic Vs2 will likely be an incremental upgrade, but will have to wait until the official release for confirmation.
One interesting information shared by tipster Digital Chat Station is that the Magic Vs2 will have “rare earth magnesium alloy” material. This is what will help Honor offer a lighter and thinner profile on the new model.
As for the Honor Watch 4 Pro, not much is known about the upcoming smartwatch. It will undoubtedly be a Pro version of the Watch 4 that went official in China a few months ago. The Pro model is shown with a circular dial but the Watch 4 has a square-ish dial. It means buyers will be able to differentiate between the two smartwatches at first glance.
The Honor Watch 4 launched with a 1.75-inch AMOLED display with 340PPI pixel density. There are over 300 watch faces for those who love customizing and personalizing the look of their smartwatch. It has a 451mAh battery and 4GB of onboard story. There is 5ATM resistance and a physical button on the side.
