Huawei sub-brand Honor has listed its upcoming smartphone Honor Play 8C on its official website for pre-orders. The device will be officially launched on October 11 in China. The specifications of the device has been leaked multiple times, and we know most of the features of the upcoming Honor smartphone. The listing on the website mentions different storage and color variants of the Honor Play 8C that we are about to lay out.
Honor Play 8C is Available in Three Colors
As per the listing, the Honor Play 8C is available in three colors: Magic Night Black, Aurora Blue, and Platinum Gold. The company has not announced the price of the smartphone yet. The Honor Play 8C will succeed the Honor 7C, which was released last year. The upcoming Honor smartphone is also a budget offering from the company and is scheduled to hit the shelves on October 11. Thanks to its certifications platform, TEENA’s leaked Chinese promotional posters, and the image teased by Huawei itself, we have a fair idea of the key highlight of the smartphone.
The teaser shared by Huawei confirmed a notched display. The smartphone will feature a 6.26 inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1520 × 720 pixels. Under the hood, the Honor Play 8C will be powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. The chipset uses a Kyro architecture and it comes with GPU 509 for handling the graphics. For storing apps and data, the Honor Play 8C features 4GB RAM, paired with 32GB and 64GB of onboard storage, based on the variant.
In the imaging department, the Honor Play 8C features a dual camera set up at the back. There is a 13MP primary sensor, paired with an aperture of f/1.8 and a 2MP depth-sensing unit. The cameras at the back get several AI-powered features like AI scene recognition, intelligent recognition, among the others. On the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfies and video calling needs.
Honor Play 8C is an Eye-Protection Certified Device
Honor Play 8C has been certified by a leading product testing and certification entity, TÜV Rheinland as an eye-protecting device. The smartphone can effectively filter the harmful blue light that causes eye fatigue. It also features adaptive color temperature adjustment that reduces the damage to the eyes caused by long-term use of smartphones. Speaking of long-term use, the Honor Play 8C packs a massive 4000mAh capacity battery that is touted to deliver 50 hours of talk time, 12.5 hours of online video streaming and 11.1 hours of intense gaming.
The Honor Play 8C will be unveiled on October 11 at an event in Beijing. There is no information on the pricing details of the device. We are expecting the smartphone to arrive in India later this year. Stay tuned with Gear by Mysmartprice for more updates on the device.
