
Huawei sub-brand Honor has launched the Honor Play 8C at an event in Beijing today. Honor listed the device for pre-order on its official website, three days prior to the launch. The device is officially out now and is available for pre-ordering. Let’s get into details of the core specifications and pricing of the new Honor Smartphone.
Honor Play 8C Pricing Details
The Honor Play 8C with 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage is priced at 1099 yuan, which translates to Rs. 11,762 approximately. The variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage is available at 1399 yuan (Rs. 14,974 approx.). The smartphone is available for pre-order and will go on sale on October 16 in China. The smartphone is available in four colors: Platinum Gold, Magic Night Black, and Nebula Purple.
Honor Play 8C Specifications
The Honor Play 8C features a 3D nano-level glare texture design. The smartphone features a 6.26 inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1520 × 720 pixels. Under the hood, the device is powered a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. For handling the graphics, the device packs an Adreno 506 GPU. Compared to the Snapdragon 626, the Snapdragon 632 processor delivers 40% better performance over the Kyro 250 architecture. You can easily afford to multitask on the device without having to worry about its performance.
In the imaging department, the Honor Play 8C features a dual camera set up comprising a 13MP primary sensor, paired with an aperture of f/1.8 and a 2MP depth-sensing unit. The front of the device houses an 8MP camera for selfies and video calling. The camera at the rear feature AI-assisted features like AI scene recognition, intelligent recognition. For storing apps and data, the Honor Play 8C offers two storage configurations: one with 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage, the other with same RAM and 64GB onboard storage. You can expand the storage on the device using a microSD card as it comes with a dedicated slot for the same.
Keeping the device awake, is a massive 4,000mAh battery that can deliver over 12.5 hours of online video streaming, 50 hours of talk time, and 11.1 hours of gaming sessions. The Honor Play 8C has been certified as an eye-protecting device. The handset can effectively weed out the harmful blue light reducing eye fatigue to a minimum. It also supports adaptive color temperature adjustment that helps in protecting the eyes against the damage done by long-term usage. The Honor Play 8C also features face recognition. On the connectivity front, the options that tag along with the device include 4G VoLTE, single-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2 LE with aptX, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and a 3.5mm headphone jackFor software, the device runs on EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
