Honor, the online sub-brand of Huawei, has had many successful smartphone launches this year. From the gaming focused Honor Play, to the impressive Honor 8X mid-range smartphone. The Honor 8X is the successor to the Honor 7X and brings plenty of new upgrades and improvements. The phone has a large display, battery, dual-camera setup, GPU Turbo, and premium design. All of these features made this one of the best budget mid-range devices of 2018 and one of the best selling phones on Amazon India.

6 Million Honor 8X Units Sold Globally, No Price Hike

In a recent Press Release, Honor states that it managed to sell over 1 million units of the Honor 8X during the Diwali sale in India. According to the company, this is a 300 percent increase in year-on-year sales from 2017. During the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale, the Honor 9N was awarded the Star Product. The Honor 8X became the best seller on Amazon India during its first ever online sale.

In China, Honor had the best sales volume and revenue in the Smartphone category during Singles’ Day. The company led the categories on both Tmall.com and JD.com, which are two of the biggest online retailers in China. The Honor 8X also became the top selling smartphone in France, North America, Middle East, Germany, and other South Asian regions.

Overall, Honor sold over 6 million units of the Honor 8X globally and set a personal sales record. To celebrate this, the company stated that it will not be hiking the prices of its devices in India. Several smartphone manufacturers have hiked the price of their device due to the depreciating rupee. However, Honor devices will continue to be sold at their respective launch prices. Mr. P Sanjeev, the VP of Sales, Huawei Consumer Business Group said:

“As a thanksgiving for our Indian consumers, we would like to announce that unlike other smartphone brands, Honor will not increase the price of its smartphones this year. Honor stands tall during this tough time and is focused to keep its customer satisfaction above the rest.”

Apart from the immense success of the Honor 8X, the smartphone maker has also had success with the latest Honor Magic 2. This device performed very well in China and was the best selling smartphone in the RMN 4,000 to 5,000 segment on Tmall and JD.com. The company also became the best seller in the Mobile and Electronics categories on shopee.com in Indonesia by shifting over 8,000 units of its devices in under 80 minutes. During the Honor Brand Day in Malaysia, the company sold over 250 units of the Honor 8X in under 30 minutes.

The Huawei sub-brand has been growing in popularity in India and is currently the number 2 brand in the online segment. Honor recorded a growth of 281 percent year-on-year in the country, which is a big deal. The company is only a couple of years old and has already built a strong fan base in India.
