Huawei sold off HONOR due to the ban imposed by the US Govt on Huawei smartphones. A recent report revealed that Huawei and HONOR plan to return to the global markets. HONOR recently introduced the HONOR V Purse concept smartphone at the IFA 2023 event in Berlin. The company later announced that the smartphone will be launched in China on September 19.
HONOR hasn’t revealed the specifications of the upcoming smartphone at the IFA event. HONOR also unveiled the HONOR Magic V2 and HONOR 90 smartphones at the IFA event. The company returned to the Indian market by debuting the HONOR 90 5G smartphone through PSAV Global and HONORTech. Digital Chat Station has revealed the key specifications of the upcoming V Purse smartphone ahead of its Chinese debut.
HONOR V Purse Tipped Specifications
Digital Chat Station confirms in a new Weibo post that the upcoming HONOR V Purse smartphone will have a large AMOLED display with 2K resolution. The tipster adds that the display will have a resolution of 2348 × 2016 pixels. DCS is yet to reveal the exact size of the display of the upcoming V Purse smartphone.
Under the hood, the forthcoming device will be equipped with a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chipset, built on TSMC’s 6nm process. Nothing equipped Nothing Phone (1) smartphone with the same Snapdragon 778G+ SoC. The chipset has a Kryo 670 Prime core based on Cortex A78 clocked at 2.5GHz, three Kryo 670 Gold cores based on Cortex-A78 at 2.2GHz, and four Kryo 670 Silver cores based on Cortex-A55 at 1.9GHz and Adreno 642 GPU.
The tipster reveals that the first clamshell smartphone from HONOR will create new records with the low thickness of the device. Digital Chat Station compares the thickness of the upcoming smartphone with reference to a candy bar. HONOR will also equip the forthcoming V Purse smartphone with 35W fast charging tech.
The tipster adds that HONOR will launch a Youth Edition of the HONOR Magic V2 smartphone under the Magic V2s moniker. Digital Chat Station doesn’t reveal any other specifications of the device. The showcase at the IFA 2023 event confirmed that the upcoming device will feature a wraparound display folding outward with interchangeable straps and chains.
The company claims that the upcoming device has a thickness of 9mm when folded, which is thinner than the HONOR Magic V2 foldable smartphone. HONOR aims to launch the smartphone as an ultimate phy-digital fashion statement with customizable Always-on displays imitating a handbag design. HONOR also commits to a sustainable environment by sourcing materials such as vegan leather for its straps.
HONOR has collaborated with Burberry menswear design director Bram Van Diepen, artist Yunuene Esparza, China Academy of Art International College Dean Yuan Youmin, and artist Xiao Hui Wang to design the customizable Always-on displays for the device. The company claims these customizable Always-On displays can match any outfit. HONOR will equip the smartphone with dual rear cameras along with a ring LED flashlight.
