Honor’s comeback to the Indian market seems to be well on track. The company is taking gradual steps toward a full-fledged return. It silently unveiled the Honor Pad X9 Android tablet is widely rumoured to debut the Honor X90 in September. While we wait for official details on the smartphone release, it has listed the Honor Watch 4 smartwatch on the official website suggesting an imminent launch.

Honor Watch 4 India Launch Soon?

Honor India’s official website has quietly been updated with a new product listing. It is for the Honor Watch 4 which went official in China just last month. The listing reveals everything about the smartwatch’s specifications and features.

The Honor Watch 4 is shown with a design that may remind you of Apple Watch in the first look but there is a slight difference. The smartwatch has way more rounded corners than the Cupertino-based tech giant’s offering. The watch will have a 6 series aluminium alloy middle frame. It will measure 45.3mm×39.1mm×11.2mm and weigh about 32 grams without straps.

The smartwatch will have a 1.75-inch AMOLED display with 450 x 390 pixels resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 340PPI pixel density. Honor’s listing reveals it will launch with over 300 watch faces including customizable ones. It further adds more watch faces will be added in the future.

There will be plenty of health and fitness features on the Honor Watch 4. Its advanced algorithm is said to demonstrate the workout outcome which will encourage users to burn more calories. It will offer features like SpO2 monitoring, heart-rate monitoring, sleep tracking, stress monitoring, and breathing exercises. Honor says it has used an optimized design of microlens array which will help with more accurate heart-rate readings.

The smartwatch will come with silicone straps that can be purchased in Gold and Black colours. It will have Bluetooth calling support (Bluetooth 5.2) so that you can take and make phone calls without reaching out to your smartphone. However, it seems like eSIM support will be missing which is available on the Chinese variant. If this is correct, you will need to keep your phone connected to the smartwatch all the time to take advantage of the calling functionalities.

Honor says the Watch 4 will be powered by a 451mAh battery. It is claimed to last for up to 14 days under “typical usage” scenarios. There will be 4GB of onboard storage to help you install your favourite apps on the smartwatch. It will have a physical button on the side that can be pressed or held. The Watch 4 will have up to 5 ATM water resistance, GPS, and a charging port with magnetic contacts. It will work with smartphones running at least Android 9.0 or iOS 11. There are no words on the pricing yet but we should hear about it sooner than later.
