Honor has launched a new smartphone under the X-series in select global markets. The company has unveiled the Honor X8 in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The device is expected to launch in other markets as well. Currently, there is no word on the India launch of the X8. While we wait for that, here’s a quick look at the new Honor smartphone.

The X8 is a mid-range offering. It comes with a Snapdragon chipset under the hood. The phone’s polycarbonate shell also features a square-shaped camera module that houses a quad-camera setup. Let’s take a look at the Honor X8 specifications, features and other details.

Honor X8 Launched

Honor has expanded its mid-range smartphone portfolio with the launch of the X8. The phone’s pricing details are currently under wraps. Meanwhile, the company has announced the specifications of the smartphone.

The mid-range smartphone has thin bezels around the display, which is 6.7-inch tall. It uses an LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2388 pixels. The device also supports a 90Hz refresh rate. With a hole-punch cutout at the top centre, the phone offers a 93.6 percent screen-to-body ratio.

On the back, there is a quad-camera setup. The device has a 64MP main camera sensor, a 5MP ultrawide camera and two 2MP sensors for depth and macro. For selfies and video calls, there is a 16MP front camera sensor.

The smartphone packs a 4000 mAh battery, which is quite small for a 2022 device. It comes with support for 22.5W fast charging out of the box. Honor claims that the phone offers up to 3 hours worth of juice in a 10-minute charge. It draws power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. The 4G chipset comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is also support for 2GB of virtual RAM support. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and AI face unlock.

Honor has launched the smartphone with Android 11 out of the box. The phone has a layer of MagicUI 4.2 on top.
