The HP Envy 14 is set to launch in India soon, and will join the likes of the HP Victus and Pavilion Aero laptop lineups that the company has introduced in India for 2021. According to a report by News18, the HP Envy 14 will mark an evolution of the HP laptop design language for 2021, using a laptop chassis that’s roughly the same size as previous, 13-inch HP laptops, and fitting a 14-inch display in it. As with every new generation laptop refresh, the Envy 14 is also going to come with the latest crop of 11th gen Intel Core processors.

HP Envy 14: key specifications

According to the News18 report, the HP Envy 14 will feature a 16:10, 14-inch IPS display with at least full HD resolution, suggesting thereby that there could be higher resolution display choices made available as optional upgrades or in more expensive variants. In terms of processors, the HP Envy 14 will likely come with at least an 11th gen Intel Core i5, but will likely go up to Core i7 options — as seen in premium ultrabooks such as the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and more, so far. At least 16GB of RAM is said to be present, while storage wise, the lineup should feature up to 512GB SSDs.

According to the report, the Envy 14 SKUs will also feature variants that would use Nvidia GTX discrete graphics options. IR thermal sensors, heat pipes and thin-blade fans are tipped to be a part of the cooling setup in the new Envy lineup. Other tipped features include Bang & Olufsen branded speakers, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 in connectivity, while the list of utility ports have not been detailed yet. The Envy 14 should feature Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C 4.0 ports, in line with the latest generation of ultrabooks being introduced over time.

Expected pricing

According to News18, the HP Envy 14 will be priced onward of around Rs 1 lakh in India. This will peg it at around the entry prices for other ultrabooks such as the Dell XPS 13 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4, among others. The Envy 14 is also said to be a viable alternative to buyers who are also considering the Apple MacBook Pro with the M1 chip, so expect prices to go well upward of Rs 1 lakh for higher configurations.
