The HP Omen 16 range of gaming laptops have been launched in India. The new laptops feature the latest generation Intel 11th gen processors as well as Nvidia’s RTX 30 series GPUs across its various SKUs. The laptops feature a 16-inch display size, but with a conventional, 16:9 aspect ratio. The laptops are available across all eligible outlets starting today, and claim to offer one of the lightest laptop builds in terms of the configurations that they are offered in.
HP Omen 16 (2021): pricing and availability
The HP Omen 16 gaming laptop range starts at Rs 1,39,999 in India. The laptops will be available at HP’s own online store, as well as HP World offline outlets. They will also be available across e-commerce retail platforms online, and across multi-brand retail stores offline.
Key specifications
In terms of the top specifications on offer, the HP Omen 16 (2021) laptop range features up to 11th gen Intel Core i7-11800 processors, as well as the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 GPU with up to 8GB VRAM. In terms of memory and storage, the laptops offer up to 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, while there is only one PCIe Gen4 x4 slot for SSD storage. The laptops offer up to 1TB SSD.
In terms of the display, the HP Omen 16 features a 16.1-inch Quad HD display resolution with a conventional, 16:9 aspect ratio. The laptops offer 165Hz refresh rate, cover 100 percent of the sRGB colour gamut, and also offer 3ms response time. The laptops also feature the company’s EyeSafe flicker protection, and TUV Rheinland certification for low emissions.
The keyboard offers 4-zone RGB LED lighting with anti-ghosting support. It has new fan blades that HP claims are 2.5x thinner than before (called Omen Tempest Cooling), producing triple the number of fan blades than its predecessor, the Omen 15. The laptop is powered by an 83Whr battery that claims to offer up to 9 hours of battery life.
