Huawei Launches Enjoy 9s, Enjoy 9e Smartphones and MediaPad M5 Lite Tablet in China: Price, Features

Huawei has launched three new devices in China today –Enjoy 9e, Enjoy 9s, and MediaPad M5 Lite. The Enjoy 9e is an entry-level smartphone, the Enjoy 9s is a mid-range smartphone, and the MediaPad M5 Lite is an affordable Android-based tablet. Here are the specifications, and pricing and availability details of these three devices.

Enjoy 9e, Enjoy 9s, and MediaPad M5 Lite Price

The Enjoy 9e comes in only one configuration – 3GB RAM + 64GB storage, and it costs CNY 999. The Enjoy 9s comes in 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variants. The former costs CNY 1,499, and the latter costs CNY 1,699.

The MediaPad M5 Lite comes in a total of four variants – two with Wi-Fi only connectivity, and two with Wi-Fi + cellular connectivity. The Wi-Fi only model with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage costs CNY 1,199, and the Wi-Fi only model with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage costs CNY 1,399. On the other hand, the Wi-Fi + cellular variant with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage costs CNY 1,499, and the Wi-Fi + cellular variant with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage costs CNY 1,599.

All three devices will go on sale in China starting today.

Enjoy 9e Specifications

The Huawei Enjoy 9e features a 6.09-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution. The display has a waterdrop notch at the top. Huawei has not confirmed whether the display features Gorilla Glass protection. For imaging, the smartphone has a single 13MP camera at the back with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP camera at the front. Huawei has opted for the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC to keep the costs low. As mentioned earlier, the device is available in 3GB RAM + 64GB storage option. There is no other variant on offer. The Enjoy Y9 runs on Android 9 Pie OS along with EMUI customization. Powering the device is a 3020mAh battery. Do note that the Enjoy 9e does not come with a fingerprint scanner.

Enjoy 9s Specifications

The Enjoy 9s packs a lot more tech than its sibling, the Enjoy 9e. For starters, the device comes with a 6.21-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution. The smartphone features the Kirin 710 SoC, which has four power-efficient Cortex-A53 cores, four high-performance Cortex-A73 cores, and Mali G51 MP4 GPU. As mentioned earlier, the device comes in 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variants. Similar to its sibling, the Enjoy 9s runs on Android 9 Pie OS with EMUI customization. The device has a 3400mAh battery. At the moment, it is unclear if the device has fast charging support.

The camera setup of the 9s is also much more advanced than that on its sibling. There is a 24MP + 16MP + 2MP triple-camera at the back. The 24MP camera has conventional FoV, the 16MP camera has an ultra-wide FoV, whereas, the 2MP camera is a depth sensor. According to Huawei, the Enjoy 9s is the cheapest smartphone to feature an ultrawide camera. Taking care of the selfies is an 8MP camera sensor. Unlike its sibling, the Enjoy 9s comes with a fingerprint scanner.

MediaPad M5 Lite Specifications

The Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite has an 8-inch IPS LCD with Full HD resolution. The tablet is powered by the same Kirin 710 SoC that powers the Enjoy 9s. The device comes in two configurations; 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. Both variants are available in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + cellular connectivity options. Needless to say, the device runs on Android 9 Pie OS with EMUI.

Although the MediaPad M5 Lite is an affordable tablet, it still has decent camera hardware. There is a 13MP camera at the back with f/2.2 aperture, and an 8MP camera at the front. The tablet is backed by a 5100mAh battery. As the name suggests, the MediaPad M5 Lite is a multimedia-focused tablet, and therefore, it comes with Harmon Kardon certified stereo speakers.
