Huawei will launch the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS Porsche Design in India today, on November 27. The eagerly awaited next-gen flagship Android smartphones come with HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset, Leica Triple-Shot camera setup, up to 8GB RAM and other high-end specifications.
Huawei India had begun teasing about the launch of the flagship Huawei Mate 20 Pro in India last month. Subsequently, the company confirmed the launch dates of the Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design smartphones. The announcement was certainly surprising because Huawei has rarely been so quick about launching its ultra-high end flagship smartphones in India.
The company’s eagerness to bring its next-gen premium Android handsets to India quickly after launching them, is an indicator of the country’s rising importance as a smartphone market. Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS Porsche Design Launch Time, Live Streaming
Since the devices have already launched, we are well aware of the high-end specifications, hardware, and features of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design smartphones. But Huawei could confirm important aspects, including price, availability and a few interesting launch offers on the premium smartphones during the official launch in India.
Huawei will formally launch the Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design flagship smartphones in India at an event in New Delhi today, November 27. The company has setup up Live Streaming of the event. In addition to YouTube, the event will stream live on Facebook and Twitter as well. Moreover, to commemorate the occasion, the company has announced an interesting ‘Capture and Win’ content that grants special Amazon vouchers to the winners.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Mate 20 RS Porsche Design share the same internal specifications. However, the latter is a luxury phone designed in partnership with Porsche Design. The glass back of the phone features two pieces of handcrafted leather with artisan textures on either side, while the Porsche Design logo is at the center. It also comes with a customized user-interface.
Huawei should confirm the exact pricing, availability and launch offers on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design at the launch today. However, we expect the company may charge around INR 75,000 for the Mate 20 Pro, while the Mate 20 RS Porsche Design could cost around INR 1,40,000.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes in two memory configurations: 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage. The Mate 20 RS Porsche Design also comes in two memory configurations: 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 512GB internal storage.
Except the premium external design and the double internal storage, the rest of the specifications of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design are identical. They feature a 6.39-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. A HiSilicon Kirin 980 7nm octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.6GHz with a Mali-G76 MP10 GPU, powers the devices.
The biggest highlight of the Huawei smartphones is the Leica Triple-Shot Camera setup on the back. The devices pack an impressive 40MP + 20MP + 8MP triple camera setup at the rear with Leica optics. There’s a 24MP selfie snapper with an f/2.0 aperture on the front. 3D facial recognition, an in-display fingerprint sensor, IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, 4200mAh battery with 40W Fast Charging, wireless charging support and an IR blaster sum up rest of the highlights. The devices run on Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.0.
