Huawei Mate 40 Pro is slated to launch in the coming days, with the Chinese electronics conglomerate earmarking October 22 as the date of launch for its new flagship phone. Now, with only a few days until launch, numerous reports have started surfacing, revealing key details about the upcoming smartphone. The latest of the lot comes courtesy of a Turkish Huawei fan blog, which has allegedly posted screenshots of the settings menus of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, thereby revealing key specifications of the phone.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro: expected specifications

According to the blog, Huawei Ailesi, the smartphone is set to feature the latest version of Huawei’s custom interface, EMUI 11, on top of Android 10. This is particularly interesting, since Huawei is believed to be making the move to its own HarmonyOS some time soon, instead of continuing with limited Android support. The Mate 40 Pro is practically certain to not come with Google’s services, and instead come equipped with Huawei Mobile Services – Huawei’s own ecosystem of apps and services that are inevitably geared towards China.

The Huawei Mate 40 Pro is seen running on the company’s in-house Kirin 9000 SoC, which is its flagship chipset for this year and will definitely come with 5G connectivity. Other specifications include 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, which is fairly standard for even mid-range phones today.

What doesn’t seem to be usual is the screen resolution of the Mate 40 Pro. The upcoming Huawei flagship reportedly has a screen ratio of 2,772 x 1,344 pixels, which translates to a display aspect ratio of around 18.6:9. That’s about as much as the leaked specifications have revealed.

As for other specifications, reports state that the Huawei Mate 40 Pro will feature a circular rear camera module, which will include a 50MP primary camera unit, a 20MP ultra-wide angle unit and a 12MP telephoto unit. The smartphone will also feature 5x optical zoom and 8K video recording. To the front, the Mate 40 Pro is expected to feature a 13MP front camera along with a 3D depth scanner.

Other reported features include Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6 and a 4,400mAh battery with 65W fast charging.
