Huawei is gearing up for the launch of its Huawei Mate 40 flagship series of smartphones. The Huawei Mate 40 lineup will be unveiled on October 22, 2020, which does not happen to be too far from now. That being said, that has certainly not stopped the rumor mill from doing its job. Ahead of launch, the specifications of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro smartphone have surfaced on the internet, which give us a working clue as to what to expect from the device. Take a look.

As per the report, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro will feature a 6.76-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2,772 x 1,344 pixels and a pixel density of 456ppi. The device will come with a pill-shaped dual punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, which will be located in the top left corner of the device’s display. The actual refresh rate of the display is currently unknown. The device will be coming in Black and Silver color options.

Under the hood, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro will come equipped with the company’s in-house Kirin 9000 processor, which will be based on a 5nm architecture. The processor will, of course, be based on 5G and will have eight cores. The report further claims that the Huawei Mate 40 Pro will come in only a single memory variant, which will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, in Europe. In China, however, the device can go all the way up to a 12GB RAM option.

In terms of cameras, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is said to feature a 50MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture, a 20MP ultra-wide camera with f/1.8 aperture, and a 12MP zoom camera with 5x zoom capability. At the front, the device is said to come with a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 3D sensor.

Coming to the battery of the device, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is tipped to feature a 4,400mAh battery, which will have support for up to 65W fast charging over a USB Type-C charging port. The device will have support for wireless charging as well.

As far as OS is concerned, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro will reportedly run on Android 10 out of the box with the company’s proprietary EMUI 11 skin baked on top of it. Other features include Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and Wi-Fi 6.
