
Huawei has today announced the launch of its latest Mate 40 series at an online launch event. The company has introduced Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro and Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ during the launch event. The company has also introduced a special Huawei Mate 40 RS edition at the online launch event. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest Mate 40 series.
Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+ and Mate 40 RS price, availability
Huawei Mate 40 price is EUR 899 (approx. Rs 78,400) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB variant. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro is priced at EUR 1,199 (approx. Rs 1,04,500), while the Mate 40 Pro+ comes with a price tag of EUR 1,399 (approx. Rs 1,23,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB option.The Porshe Design Huawei Mate40 RS is priced at EUR 2,295 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage.
The Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro is available in Black, White, and Mystic Silver. The company has also rolled out a leather finish in Yellow and Green for both the phones. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ is available in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black colour options. The Mate 40 RS is available in Ceramic Black and Ceramic White.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+ specifications
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ features a 6.76-inch Flex OLED display with a screen resolution of 2376 x 1080 pixels. The screen comes with curved edges and meets the side wall at an angle of 88-degree. The phones support 90Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, DCI-P3 HDR and attention aware technology. The Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ are powered by the latest Kirin 9000 chipset, which is the first 5nm chipset in Android ecosystem. The chipset offers 25 per cent better CPU performance, 150 per cent NPU performance and more.
The Mate 40 Pro offers a glass finish at the back panel, while the Mate 40 Pro+ is built from the ceramic. The Mate 40 Pro offers a quad-camera setup. The primary sensor comes with 50MP with f/1.9 aperture with OIS. The sensor can shooter 4K video at 60 fps along with a slow-mo video at 1080p with 480fps. The second camera is a 20MP Cine lens with f/1.8 ultra-wide-angle lens. Lastly, there is a 12MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom, f/3.4 aperture and OIS.
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ comes with a 50MP primary lens with f/1.9 aperture, OIS. The phone comes with a 20MP ultra-wide Cine lens with f/2.4 aperture. The third sensor is an 8MP periscope lens with 10x zoom and a 12MP telephoto sensor with 3x zoom. This gives up to 17x optical zoom range. Lastly, there is a ToF sensor for depth sensing. For the front, both the smartphones come with a dual-selfie camera with a 13MP front-facing camera along with a depth sensor.
Both the smartphone runs on Android 10-based EMUI 11 with Huawei Mobile Services. The company has also added smart gesture controls through which one can pick up a call and more. The devices pack a 4,400mAh battery with 66W SuperCharge fast charging technology. Both of them also support 50W Huawei Wireless SuperCharge and reverse wireless charging.

The device is powered by the Kirin 9000 chipset and packs 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
For optics, you get a 50MP primary lens, 16MP ultra-wide angle lens, 8MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom and 5x optical zoom range. The device pack a 4,200mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge fast charging technology.
