Huawei Mate X2 Launch Confirmed

Huawei has confirmed that it will be launching its next-generation of a foldable smartphone, the Huawei Mate X2, in China. The smartphone will be unveiled on February 22nd. The company confirmed this news on its official Weibo handle. The launch invite also comes with a foldable smartphone with an in-ward folding design.

Interestingly, a new leak emerged online that reveals that the new generation of the foldable smartphone will come with a new in-folding design, unlike the out-folding design of its predecessor. However, the tipster claims that the in-folding design could be different from the one present with the Samsung Galaxy Fold series. The tipster further claims that the handset will pack a 5nm chipset, which is said to be none other than Kirin 9000 series. The upcoming foldable smartphone might also have ‘some very dazzling new technologies’.

Previously, the handset was spotted on China’s TENAA certification website. The upcoming Huawei Mate X2 is tipped to launch with 5G connectivity and 66W fast charging support. The phone might also feature a 120Hz refresh rate along with 8.1-inch display when unfolded. On the connectivity front, it is rumoured to offer Wi-Fi6 and Bluetooth 5.1 support, along with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Huawei Mate X2 is said to run on Android 10 on top of EMUI 11. The handset might come with scratch-resistant CPI (colourless) polyimide instead of UTG (ultra-thin glass). That said, this is all we know about the upcoming Huawei Mate X2 smartphone.
