Huawei today announced the launch of its new tablet, MatePad T8, in India. The latest tablet falls in the budget segment and is available in Deepsea Blue colour. The Huawei MatePad T8 flaunts slim bezels, features a compact design, and comes equipped with a long-lasting battery. The tablet runs on EMUI 10 and, as usual, doesn’t have support for Google Play Store; it does, however, come with Huawei App Gallery. The Huawei MatePad T8 price in India is Rs 10,999. The tablet is available for pre-order starting from today till September 14. During this period, customers can avail the tablet at a special price of Rs 9,999.

Coming to the specifications, Huawei MatePad T8 runs on Android-based EMUI 10 and it comes with Huawei App Gallery to allow users to access applications. The user interface comes with a dark mode that makes it comfortable to read. The tablet is loaded with an 8.0-inch HD+ LCD display with a screen resolution of 1260 x 800 pixels, 189ppi pixel density, and 80 percent screen-to-body ratio.
The tablet also comes with enhanced Eye Comfort Mode that the company claims will protect kids’ eyes from blue light. Furthermore, the company claims the tablet will alert children to adjust the angle to protect their eyesight if they are viewing the tablet while lying down.
The device is powered by a MediaTek MT8768 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz along with IMG GE8320 650 MHz GPU. It is backed by a 2GB of RAM and up to 32GB of internal storage with an option to expand the storage up to 512GB via microSD card slot. In terms of optics, the MediaPad T8 is loaded with a 5-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, you get a 2-megapixel shooter with f/2.4 aperture.
The tablet is loaded with a 5,100mAh battery and it supports 5W charging support. The company claims that a single charge can provide up to 12 hours of local video playback and 12 hours of web browsing. On the connectivity front, it supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2.4G and 5G), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, AGPS, OTG support, and micro USB 2.0 port. The tablet measures 199.70 x 121.10 x 8.55 mm and weighs 310 grams. The brand says that the Huawei MatePad T8 comes with 4.9mm side bezels.
