Last month, we reported two variants of the Huawei P Smart (2019) with model numbers – POT-LX1 and POT-LX3 appeared on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US. Now, the POT-LX1 has also been listed on the Global Certification Forum (GCF). If you’re not aware, GCF certification is mandatory for devices requiring connection to networks in countries outside of North America.

While the certification doesn’t reveal any vital info about the specifications, it does indicate that the handset is well on its way for a release in the US. From what is already revealed regarding the handset on the FCC, it seems that the Huawei P Smart will likely be a mid-range device.

Huawei P Smart (2019) POT-LX1 Variant Appears at FCC

The Huawei POT-LX1 FCC listing does not reveal any new information aside from what has been revealed already. It confirms the smartphone will be fueled by a 3320mAh capacity battery with 10W fast charging support. Unlike the FCC listing for the POT-LX3 variant, the POT-LX1 listing does not include any information regarding the memory configuration. The POT-LX3 FCC listing had revealed the smartphone would be available in two configurations – 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage. For further expansion, the smartphone will come with Hybrid Dual-SIM slots.

In terms of design, the Huawei P Smart (2019) is going to feature a teardrop notch at the notch and a dual-camera setup at the rear. Similar to its predecessor, the smartphone will also feature a circular fingerprint sensor at the rear. If a recent leak is to be believed, the Huawei P Smart (2019) will be powered by Huawei’s 12nm Kirin 710 octa-core SoC under the hood. The smartphone is expected to come with an IPS LCD display with an ultra-tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio, although the exact size has not been confirmed yet. Huawei P Smart (2018), which was introduced in December last year, sports a 5.65-inch Full HD+ resolution display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. In terms of optics, the 2019 model is expected to feature an improved dual-camera setup at the rear, along with a higher resolution selfie snapper. On the software front, we expect the smartphone to be launched with the Android 9.0 Pie-based EMUI 9.0 out of the box.

The Huawei P Smart (2019) is rumored to be launched in January next year. In terms of pricing, the smartphone is expected to cost €199 for the base variant. The official unveiling, however, could possibly happen before the end of the year.
