The Huawei Y9 (2019) is the successor to the Y9 (2018), and the device has already been launched in a few countries. Let us have a look at its specifications and expected Indian pricing.

Huawei Y9 (2019) Expected Price in India

The Huawei Y9 (2019) costs RM 899 (approximately INR 15,000) in Malaysia for the 4GB + 64GB variant. The smartphone might most probably carry the same price tag in India. The base variant could be priced at INR 14,999, while the top-end variant could cost INR 16,999.

Huawei Y9 (2019) Specifications, Features

The Huawei Y9 (2019) features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution. There is a tiny notch at the top of the display. However, the notch has a traditional rectangular design instead of a waterdrop design that’s trending nowadays. Huawei has not provided any information whether the screen has Gorilla Glass protection or not, which lets us believe that it does not.

The Huawei Y9 (2019) comes powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC, which has four high-performance Cortex-A73 cores, four power-efficient Cortex-A53 cores, and Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. Huawei has also packed the Y9(2019) with GPU Turbo. Internationally, the device is available in two configurations. The base configuration has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, whereas, the other configuration has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Huawei will most probably launch both variants in India. The smartphone has Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 customization.

Coming to the cameras, the device features a 16MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the back, and a 13MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the front. Cameras on either side can capture portrait images, thanks to the dual-camera setup. However, the Y9 (2019) cannot record 4K videos, which is a bummer for a smartphone that is expected to be priced around INR 10,000. The Huawei Y9 (2019) has dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v5.0, and two SIM card slots with support for 4G LTE.
