Indus Battle Royale Announces its First Esports Tournament with Rs 10 Lakhs Prize Pool Ahead of Closed Beta Test

Ever since SuperGaming announced the Indus battle royale game, Indian gamers are all hyped up for the game as it is a made-in-in-India BR game. The developers have been tight-lipped about its release date but will not keep calm in laying stones in the esports sector to prepare things for its launch. In that progress, the company has announced Indus’s first-ever esports tournament well ahead of its launch.

Indus is an Indo-Futuristic battle royale which is being developed by award-winning Pune-based game studio, SuperGaming. The game will be released for PC, mobile and consoles. The game is currently available on Google Play Store for pre-registration. In a press release launched on Oct 24, SuperGaming revealed that the game has crossed seven million pre-registrations already.

Indus Battle Royale First Esports Event Announced

This esports competition dubbed the Indus Esports Invitational, is set to include some of the most significant figures in the Indian esports community. The Indus Esports Invitational, which has a prize pool of Rs 10,00,000 and has invited several professional teams to compete. The competition is scheduled for October 28, 2023.

SuperGaming is also inviting six esports teams to participate in the coming competition, likely in order to better understand their needs and expectations from an esports-ready game. Professional gamers will compete with content creators, community members, and former playtest champions at the Indus Esports Invitational.

Roby John, co-founder and CEO of SuperGaming, expressed gratitude to the community for its response to the Indus battle royale. He went on to say that the developers were enthusiastic and optimistic about testing the game in the competitive esports sector. While the game is still under development, SuperGaming has created a tournament version that includes the whole Virlok map, polished controls, balanced design upgrades, enhanced graphics, and animations.

SuperGaming has invited the following teams for the tournament:

  • Godlike Esports
  • Team 8bit
  • Global Esports
  • Enigma Gaming
  • Reckoning Esports

The winners of the tournament will take home Rs 5 lakhs out of the Rs 10 Lakhs prize pool. The runner-ups will receive Rs 2.5 lakh while the third-placed and fourth-placed teams will get Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively. The MVP also has a prize reward of Rs 1 Lakh.

Fans of Indus and battle royale esports may witness the first Indus esports event live on the Indus Discord channel. The available slots are limited and offered on a “first come, first serve” basis, as stated by SuperGaming. Indus Esports Invitational will be the fifth time in which SuperGaming has included its community in gaming. It is part of its endeavour to provide gamers with a platform to express themselves and influence the design of its most ambitious title yet.

SuperGaming has officially announced a closed beta for the Indus Battle Royale game in August. Interested players can pre-register to participate in the beta test on Google Play Store.
