- Infinix will use the tech to show dynamic alerts and notifications.
- It will debut with the Note 30 VIP special edition later this month.

Infinix made headlines last month for launching a smartphone with a unique back panel design. The Infinix GT 10 Pro comes with a Cyberpunk-inspired design and also has customizable LEDs on the back for notifications. The LED approach was undoubtedly an inspiration from Nothing but the company has now announced something truly of its own. We are talking about the 3D Lighting Leather technology that will debut later this month.
Infinix 3D Leather Lighting Technology Details
As per GSMArena, Infinix has taken wraps off a new technology called 3D Leather Lighting. The goal is to offer a fun and dynamic way of receiving notifications on your smartphone. It does this in a similar way as the GT 10 Pro and Nothing Phone (2) which is on the back panel and without requiring the user to wake up the display.
Infinix is touting the technology as the industry’s first highly translucent 3D Lighting Leather. It has a four-layer structure featuring a Light Guide Film at the base. There is a Lightproof Paint Layer just above it which is followed by a Transparent Fiberglass Material. Translucent TPU Leather is at the top completing the whole structure.
Official teaser images for the tech show a leather back panel with colourful LED lights. These are shown in Red, Blue, and Teal colours which suggest users will able to choose from a wide range of colours. It seems like Infinix will combine these LED lights with sound effects to deliver dynamic notifications and alerts.
The new 3D Lighting Leather tech will make its debut with a Note 30 VIP special edition smartphone later this month. It will be a special variant of the Note 30 VIP that went official globally in June.
To recall, the Infinix Note 30 VIP comes with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with a centered punch-hole. It is a panel with 120Hz refresh rate support and 900 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 processor paired with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.
The smartphone has 8GB and 12GB RAM options but a single 256GB storage. There is a triple rear camera setup featuring a 108MP camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP camera with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is a 32MP sensor with f/2.5 aperture.
There is a 5,000mAh battery to keep the lights on. It is supported by 68W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. The smartphone also offers reverse wired and wireless charging. It boots XOS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box. You also get a USB Type-C port and in-display fingerprint scanner with the smartphone. It is unknown when and if the Note 30 VIP will launch in India.
