
Intel has announced tha launch of its Core 14th Generation desktop processors in India. The series includes six new desktop processors, including the Intel Core i9-14900K. The company said in a press release that the processors can deliver up to 24 cores and 32 threads and up to 6 GHz of frequency out of the box. Meanwhile, the Intel Core i7-14700K offers 20 cores and 28 threads. It comes with four more Efficient-cores (E-cores) compared to the previous generation. Intel’s Core 14th Gen desktop processors also include the company’s new AI Assist feature called the Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU).
Intel Core 14th Gen Desktop Processors: Compatibility And Availability
Intel Core 14th Gen desktop processors will be compatible with the Intel 600 and the 700-series chipsets.
Intel Core 14th Gen desktop processors will be available at retail outlets across the country as well as via OEM partner systems starting October 17.
Intel Core 14th Gen Desktop Processors: Specifications
Intel claims its i9-14900K is the world’s fastest desktop processor as it offers 6 GHz speeds out of the box. The processor is aimed at gamers as well as creators for a smooth workflow. The i7-14700K is said to include 25 percent more cores to enable significant performance gains in multi-threaded workloads. It is compatible with the existing 600/700-series motherboards.
In terms of gaming experience, Intel’s Core 14th Gen processors are said to offer an uplift of up to 23 percent compared to the competition, as per the release. The processors also include new gaming-focused features like Intel Application Optimization (APO), which enables better application threading. It works alongside Intel’s Thread Director application thread scheduling.
Next up is the Intel XTU AI Assist feature that takes advantage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to guide overclocking. However, do keep in mind that the AI Assist feature is supported on certain Intel Core 14th gen unlocked SKUs, details of which can be accessed on the company’s website.
Intel’s Core 14th Generation desktop processors support DDR5 XMP speeds beyond 8,000 megatransfers/second (MT/S), as per the company.
Connectivity options on the processors include support for Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.3, as well as discrete support for new Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless technologies. In addition, there’s also support for Thunderbolt 4 as well as upcoming Thunderbolt 5 wired connectivity on the Intel Core 14th Gen desktop processors. This allows the processors to support up to 80 Gbps of bi-directional bandwidth.
