Google has renamed its AI-powered chatbot from Bard to Gemini. The company has also launched a paid plan for Gemini Advanced priced at Rs 1950 per month in India. As an inaugural offer, Google is providing free access to Gemini Advanced for two months to all users.
Gemini Advanced is trained on Google’s Ultra 1.0, which is their most powerful AI model. It is capable of generating precise and step-by-step answers to any query. The AI chatbot can also learn progressively through your conversations, and adapt its answers based on the latest trends happening in the world.
Google has also announced a dedicated Android app for Gemini. It also replaces the Google Assistant. However, the app is officially not available in India. Users can access Gemini Advanced using a web browser, or manually install the Gemini APK on their Android phone.
How To Purchase Gemini Advanced
Google’s paid subscription for Gemini Advanced is called as Google One AI Premium Plan. For Rs 1950 per month, users get access to the latest AI model and an additional 2TB of Google Drive storage. The free two-month trial for Gemini Advanced is available to both new and existing users of Google One. Here’s how you can purchase it.
- Open the Google Gemini Advanced purchase page using this link.
- Now select the ‘Start trial’ option.
- Confirm your payment details. If you are using a credit card, then you will be charged a refundable fee of Rs 2 for authentication.
- Your free trial will be activated upon successful setup of your payment method.
Keep in mind that the two plans are linked right now. So if you are already a subscriber of any Google One plan, then you must manually cancel the Gemini Advanced subscription at least one day before your free trial ends. Otherwise, you will be charged Rs 1950 per month, instead of your normal Google One plan price.
Gemini Advanced is accessible on desktops and Android devices using any web browser. The dedicated Gemini Android app is available in select countries. In the next few weeks, Google will also expand its support to iOS devices through the Google App.
Features of Gemini Advanced Compared to Bard
Gemini Advanced is the most powerful AI developed by Google using the new Ultra 1.0 model. It is capable of writing codes, debugging, developing new ideas, progressive learning, and more. It can also generate images using textual prompts.
Google says that Gemini Advanced has the potential to become your personal tutor. It can create steps-wise instructions to solve any problem and have back-and-forth discussions with the user based on their learning style.
One of the biggest upgrades in Gemini Advanced over Bard is its integration with Google Assistant. Users can now directly use the advanced AI chatbot using the voice command ‘Hey Google’. Gemini also supports all the features of Google Home, allowing users to control their IoT smart devices.
Gemini is also designed to help content creators to analyze the latest trends over the internet. The chatbot can suggest ideas to creators to curate projects that will have maximum interest from their audiences.
Google further added that Gemini will soon be integrated with Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet, to assist users with their documents and meetings. The concept sounds similar to Microsoft’s Copilot integration with Office 365. Gemini Advanced looks like the long-awaited competitor for OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Google recently added support for Help Me Write in Gmail. It uses AI to analyze the context of the email thread and helps you compose new emails and replies. The feature was earlier available to a small set of Google Workspace Lab users but now has been extended to paid users of Gemini Advanced, including users on the free trial.
