The Dimensity 9300 is the upcoming flagship processor from MediaTek, which will directly compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The specifications of the Dimensity 9300 chipset have now surfaced online, which reveal the core configuration of the processor.
MediaTek is reportedly taking a unique approach with its latest flagship processor, by skipping efficiency cores from the chipset. The Dimensity 9300 is tipped to feature 8 performance-oriented cores, with a stronger GPU than the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Specifications Leaked
Popular tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked the speciations of the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset on Weibo. The post reveals that the Dimensity 9300 will have eight high-performance cores in a 1+3+4 core configuration.
As per DCS, The Dimensity 9300 is expected to feature 1x ARM Cortex X4 Prime core, 3x ARM Cortex X4 cores, and 4x ARM Cortex-A720 cores. It will be the first processor in the Android market without any efficiency cores. The clock speed of the Dimensity 9300 is tipped to be 3.25GHz.
The Weibo post further adds that the Dimensity 9300 will feature the Immortalis G720 MC12 GPU. As per DCS, the graphics performance of the Dimensity 9300 will be better than the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. However, the final results could differ slightly when both processors are launched officially.
The Dimensity 9300 will be manufactured on TSMC’s 4nm architecture, with the N4P node process. This fabrication technique is well known to produce highly efficient processors, as compared to previous N4 and N5 based nodes. MediaTek is highly optimistic about its latest flagship chipset.
As per reports, Qualcomm has already shifted to the 3nm architecture with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. However, MediaTek is trying to have a conservative approach by launching the Dimensity 9300 on the tried and tested 4nm N4P architecture.
However, that does not mean that MediaTek is not ready for 3nm processors. The company has already announced that they have successfully developed a 3nm processor using TSMC’s foundries. MediaTek said that they will release the first set of 3nm processors in the second half of 2024.
MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Launch Date
MediaTek has not yet officially confirmed the launch date of the Dimensity 9300 chipset. However, the company is expected to announce the chipset ahead of the Snapdragon Summit scheduled for October 24. Qualcomm will unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset at this event.
The Vivo X100 is rumoured to be the first device to launch with the Dimensity 9300 chipset. As per previous reports, the device is expected to offer fierce competition to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 based smartphones.
Xiaomi and OPPO could soon join the race to use the Dimensity 9300 chipset in their smartphones. However, both brands have not yet commented on the upcoming MediaTek chipset.
