
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset has been announced by Qualcomm on Monday. This newly unveiled chipset will power the mid-range smartphones. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is manufactured using a 4nm process and it offers a clock speed of 2.4GHz. The SoC is fueled by Kryo CPU and Qualcomm GPU for smooth multitasking and gaming. It also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ technology which refuels power from 0 to 50% in just five minutes.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Supports 144Hz Full HD+ Resolution Display, 200MP Camera
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 also includes Qualcomm AI Engine which helps users with daily tasks, such as setting reminders or searching up the nearest restaurant. The chipset also has support for Full HD+ resolution display with 144Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the SoC also has support for Qualcomm’s aptX Lossless technology for improved Bluetooth sound quality. It also supports HDR gaming with 10-bit colour depth.
The SoC also supports LPDRR5 memory up to 3200 MHz as well as it supports UFS 4.0 storage. The chipset also has support for several connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, Glonass, GPS, BeiDou, Galileo, NavIC, and QZSS. The Specta ISP supports a single 200MP camera and it can also capture 4K videos at 30 fps. Last but not least, the chipset also comes with a Snapdragon X62 5G modem which supports 5G mmWave and sub-6 GHz, standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes, FDD, and TDD.
Redmi Note 13 Pro+ Will Be First Smartphone To Feature Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 Chipset
While announcing the SoC, the company didn’t specify as to when the first devices with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 will launch. However, a recent Geekbench test result does indicate that this new chipset will first power the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G. The benchmark listing which surfaced yesterday reveals that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 consists of a total of eight cores out of which four offer a clock speed of 1.96GHz and the other four have 2.4GHz speed. Furthermore, the test result also has confirmed that the Redmi Note 13 Pro will pack up to 16GB of RAM. To recall, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G is set to launch in China alongside the Redmi Note 13 5G and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G in China on September 21.
