WhatsApp Starts Testing Feature to Pin Multiple Channels

  • WhatsApp is testing a new feature allowing users to pin up to two channels.
  • The feature is still in the Beta version of Android and is not available to everyone.

WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature allowing beta testers to pin multiple channels to the top of their list. While the WhatsApp channel has been part of the messaging app for a while, back in February, Meta released a feature allowing users to pinpoint any channel to the top of the list. Now, this new update takes that feature a step further, but with a catch. Here’s everything you need to know about.

Pin Multiple Channels on WhatsApp

According to the latest report from WaBetaInfo, a website that tracks all WhatsApp updates, the latest WhatsApp beta for Android version allows users to pin up to two Channels at a time. While it seems like a great update, the cap limit of only two channels might feel underwhelming for someone who follows multiple channels.

How to Pin Multiple WhatsApp Channels

If you are part of the Beta program and want to pin a specific channel to the top, the process is quite simple. Just long-press the desired channel and a set of tools will appear at the top, including a pin icon located in the left of the three-dot menu. If you try to pin more than two channels, a notification will inform you of the limit.

According to WABetaInfo, users can select multiple channels simultaneously for other actions, such as muting or marking them as read and pinning them.

What About the Availability?

As mentioned earlier, this feature is in the Beta program right now and is for Android smartphones only. However, we expect the company to roll out more users soon. We will keep you posted once it starts rolling out, so, stay tuned.
