WhatsApp Will Soon Simplify Sending Multiple Photos on Android: Here’s How

Highlights
  • WhatsApp is rolling out a new beta update with a simplified image-sharing interface.
  • The new update allows beta testers to send multiple images quickly with a single caption for them all.

WhatsApp, with the latest beta update, is simplifying the image-sharing process for its users. The messaging platform recently got features like Draft labels in the chat inbox to image search functionality on the web. Let’s take a look at the new simplified image-sharing option.

WhatsApp Image Sharing Will Soon Get a New Interface

The simplified image-sharing interface spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta is similar to media sharing in the iOS Messages app. All you would need to do is click on the paper clip icon next to the text box and a media tray opens up with an option to select a gallery on top. A single tap on each image will let you select desired pictures. There is also a unified HD button on top to send photos in high-quality resolution.

WhatsApp has eliminated the image editor step after selecting images. This simple step has made image sharing much quicker and more convenient if you often send multiple photos. You can edit and crop the photos by clicking on the pencil icon at the bottom of the media sharing tray. With this new change, WhatsApp will now group images sent together even if there are just a couple of pictures.

Presently, if you want to share multiple images with your contacts, it’s a multi-pronged process. You have to tap the camera icon next to the text bar, then the gallery button in the bottom left, select images, select HD quality from the image editor screen, and then send. Needless to say, this is unnecessarily cumbersome, and WhatsApp is finally working on addressing it.

Moreover, WhatsApp has also simplified captioning for images. You will be soon able to use a single caption for the entire batch of multiple images and you won’t have to type individual captions for each picture in the image editor, which is the case right now.

These features are currently under testing and available to limited beta testers and should roll out for everyone soon. We will let you know once there are official details around this, so, stay tuned.
