Apple iPad mini 6 design renders
Apple is likely to launch the iPad mini 6 later this year. Ahead of the launch, the design renders of the upcoming iPad have leaked online. Tipster Jon Prosser has shared the design renders of the upcoming smaller iPad. The tipster, citing sources, claims that the iPad mini will look like a smaller iPad Air 2020. It will have narrower bezels and come with improved internals.
The noticeable upgrade is at the front of the iPad mini. Prosser claims that the 2021 iPad mini will offer more screen estate in nearly the same footprint. The bezels are narrower and the home button is going away, according to Prosser. Apple is instead placing the Touch ID on the power button, just like it did on the 2020 iPad Air.
The edges are also getting flatter on the iPad mini. It will measure 206.3mm x 137.8mm x 6.1mm, according to the tipster. Prosser further claims that Apple will ditch the Lightning Port in favour of USB Type-C on the iPad mini. It will also come with “dramatically improved” speakers. The 2020 iPad mini will launch in Black, Silver and Rose Gold colours, according to Prosser.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claimed that the iPad mini is set to launch later this year alongside a new budget iPad.
Apple Pencil 3?
Prosser’s sources claim that the smaller iPad will come with Apple Pencil support. However, the upcoming Pencil is much smaller in size. It could well be the rumoured Apple Pencil 3 that was supposed to launch alongside the M1 iPad Pro.
