Apple recently launched the iPad Pro series earlier this year. The 2021 iPad Pro models feature a faster and more efficient M1 chip. The 12.9-inch Pro model also features a mini-LED display. Rumours are rife that the upcoming MacBook Pro models and the iPad mini 6 will feature the same mini-LED display. A recent report from DigiTimes claimed that the mini LED iPad mini will launch later this year. However, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) contradicts the report and believes that the mini LED iPad won’t launch this year. Let’s take a look at the iPad mini 6 specs, features, and other leaked details.

No iPad mini 6 with mini LED this year

Apple is rumoured to launch the iPad mini 6 this year. Reports suggested that the compact Apple tab will get a mini LED display. However, Young claims that this year’s iPad mini will not get the display tech found on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

9to5Mac recently claimed that the upcoming mini tablet from Apple will launch with an A15 processor. The small iPad is also said to include a USB Type-C port and a magnetic smart connector.

Leaked design renders of the iPad mini reveal that it will look like a smaller iPad Air 2020. The iPad has narrow bezels and will offer more screen estate in nearly the same footprint. Apple is also said to be removing the Home Button and placing Touch ID on the power button. It will also come with improved speakers. The device is rumoured to launch in Black, Silver and Rose Gold colours, according to Prosser.

There is no exact word on the launch timeline. However, reports in the past have claimed a year-end launch of the iPad mini. We can expect Apple to unveil its compact iPad in October or November. What are your thoughts on the smaller iPad? Do let us know in the comments below.
