The iPhone 12 lineup, as touted before, is again stated to come with four variants including iPhone 12 Mini, 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. Starting with the iPhone 12 Mini, the smallest of Apple’s 5G iPhones is expected to come with a 5.4-inch OLED display, and offer five colour variants including black, white, red, green and blue. Storage options for the smartphone is expected to range from 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Interestingly, the leak states that unlike other years where the entry level iPhone had lower grade displays, all the four iPhones this year would feature Super Retina XDR Display panels, which would be protected by a ceramic substrate layer that is said to significantly improve durability of the displays. The iPhone 12 Mini camera is expected to be similar to the iPhone 11, featuring a dual camera unit of standard and ultra-wide, with an f/1.6 wide aperture lens.

The iPhone 12, meanwhile, is largely expected to retain similar specifications, including the same rear camera configuration, same display quality, same storage options and the same colour variants. However, it will cater to those who want a larger screen experience, with the report suggesting that the phone will get a 6.1-inch display.

The iPhone 12 Pro, meanwhile, is said to come in gold, silver, graphite and blue colour finishes. It will feature 128GB base storage, and go all the way up to 512GB. The 12 Pro will feature the same display size as the iPhone 12, but importantly feature a quad camera module at the back. This will include a primary unit with f/1.6 aperture lens, an ultra-wide unit, a telephoto unit with 4x optical zoom range and a LiDAR sensor for advanced augmented reality applications. The 12 Pro is also expected to come with new, 7P lens architecture to improve the quality of optics on offer.

While the iPhone 12 Pro Max is expected to get the same camera configuration, the report says that it will get a 47 percent larger primary image sensor, with larger pixel size. The biggest iPhone 12 variant is also expected to get a 6.7-inch screen – the biggest display size in an iPhone till date.

Features common to the entire lineup include 5G connectivity, no earphones or chargers in the box, 15W wireless charging support (that will reportedly be called ‘MagSafe’), Dolby Vision certification, a new ‘Smart Data Mode’ for automatic 4G/5G spectrum allocation, and new camera enhancements under the improved Deep Fusion and Smart HDR 3.
