Apple has confirmed the iPhone 13 launch date. The company will host its new event on September 14. The event is titled California Streaming, where Apple is likely to unveil four new iPhone models. Ahead of the launch, a lot of information about the new iPhone models have leaked online. Rumours are rife that the Pro models will finally get a 120Hz refresh rate display. Apple is also making the notch smaller, according to reports. Meanwhile, some more details of the iPhone 13 series have surfaced online. The latest development comes from tipster PineLeaks, who has listed a number of features that will be announced at the iPhone 13 event. He also claims that there will be no price surge, which is contrary to some of the recent reports.
PineLeaks claims that Apple will stick to the iPhone 12 pricing for its upcoming models. This means that the 2021 iPhone lineup could start at $699 for the base iPhone 13 mini and go up to $1,099 for the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
iPhone 13 models to pack bigger batteries
He further reveals that the Pro Max model will continue to remain the top-tier Apple flagship iPhone, which will pack an 18-20 per cent larger battery, compared to last year’s model. A recent report claimed that Apple will pack a 4,352 mAh battery in the Pro Max model. The bigger battery will add to the overall weight and thickness of the devices. Apple is also expected to pack a larger cell inside the other three iPhones. Due to this, the mini is expected to offer an additional hour worth of battery life.
Although the 6.1-inch vanilla and Pro models will pack the same battery, the latter will offer lesser juice. This is because of the addition of a 120Hz refresh rate screen. The tipster claims that Apple will pack a 10 per cent larger battery in these two devices. The previous report suggested that both 6.1-inch models will come with a 3,095 mAh battery under the hood. He further states that the displays on the Pro model will throttle down to 60Hz when in low power mode.
The camera is rumoured to get better too
In terms of camera, the upcoming iPhone 13 series camera sensors will capture at least 15 per cent more light. The ultrawide camera sensor will get the biggest upgrade, with up to 40 per cent more light. It was previously claimed that the Pro models will get a 6P, f/1.8 aperture ultrawide camera with autofocus support. Some also claimed that all four iPhone models will get the improved ultrawide camera.
PineLeaks reiterated another report that revealed some of the new iPhone 13 camera features. He states that Apple will introduce a new feature called Portrait “Cinematic” Video. Night mode on the upcoming iPhone 13 models will also recognise stars in the sky and “internally adjusts itself accordingly.” Colour science in Night mode is also said to get some improvements. He stated an example of a dominant orange light from behind the camera that will no longer impact the skin tone of a subject as much as it currently does.
Not just one but two more things could launch alongside
Lastly, the tipster claims that Apple AirPods 3 will launch at the iPhone 13 event. Apple will also launch the Apple Watch Series 7 at the event on September 14. MySmartPrice has not verified the authenticity of the leaked information. We, therefore, advise our readers to take the leaked details with a pinch of salt.
