Apple iPhone 14 rumours have started picking pace. The new iPhone series is expected to launch in September this year. We can expect four new iPhone models launching this year with 6.1 and 6.7-inch display sizes. Yes, there will not be a 5.4-inch mini iPhone, according to the rumour mill. Apple will instead launch an iPhone 14 Max with a 6.7-inch display.
A lot about the upcoming iPhone models has leaked online already. MySmartPrice uploaded exclusive iPhone 14 CAD renders earlier this year. Since then, some more details of the Apple flagship smartphone have leaked. The latest one comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has shared some details regarding the front camera of the 2022 iPhone. Let’s take a look at the iPhone 14 specifications, features and other details known so far.
iPhone 14 Series Front Camera Details
Apple is said to upgrade the iPhone 14 front camera this year. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will add autofocus to its upcoming iPhone’s front camera. The addition of autofocus to the front camera will, as the name suggests, will help focus better on the subject during FaceTime video calls. It should ideally also help the front camera focus better while clicking selfies in normal or portrait mode.
The analyst further stated that the front camera on the upcoming 14 series will have a wider aperture compared to the current generation models. iPhone 13 comes with an f/2.2 front camera. The upcoming 2022 iPhone models are said to come with an f/1.9 front camera. A wider aperture could result in better lowlight performance and a shallower depth of field. Apple might also introduce new features that could take advantage of the new updates.
The company has not fiddled around much with the front camera of its iPhone models in the past. We can expect the 14 series to feature the improved 12MP front camera. On the back, the Pro models are rumoured to get a 48MP main camera sensor along with a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 12MP telephoto camera. The non-Pro models will continue to sport a 12MP dual-camera setup.
All four iPhone models will sport an OLED display. The iPhone 14 and 14 Pro will feature a 6.1-inch display. The 14 Max and 14 Pro Max will come with a 6.7-inch display. Both Pro models will come with a ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate display. The notch on the Pro models is also said to get replaced by a hole punch and a pill-shaped cutout at the top centre for Face ID sensors and the front camera.
Apple is rumoured to launch the Pro models with an A16 chip. The non-Pro models are likely to get either a rebadged A15 Bionic chip or a slightly improved version of it. We will share more details about the iPhones once available. Meanwhile, drop your thoughts about the leaked details in the comments below.
