iPhone 15 series rumours have been surfacing on the web over the past few weeks. Apple is likely to launch four new iPhones in the lineup. There will be the standard iPhone 15, above which will be the iPhone 15 Plus. Apple will also launch two Pro iPhones, namely the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 15 Pro Max might launch as the 15 Ultra as well. While the confusion over the official moniker prevails, a new leak has revealed some key details about the camera sensor of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Tipster Ice Universe claims that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will pack the biggest sensor found in any iPhone to date. Apple is likely to pack a Sony IMX903 main camera sensor in its upcoming top-end iPhone. The new sensor, according to the tipster, is 1/1.14-inch in size. The bigger sensor should help capture more light and details, especially for low light shots.
Based on the leaked details, the iPhone 15 Pro Max might pack some improved camera hardware. The iPhone 14 Pro Max, in comparison, has a Sony IMX803 1/1.28-inch primary camera. The camera sensor resolution will remain the same at 48MP.
While the upcoming 15 Pro Max is set to get an upgraded main camera, it will be slightly smaller than the Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor found in several Android flagship phones. The likes of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, OPPO Find X6 Pro, Vivo X90 Pro, etc., pack a 1-inch camera sensor on the back.
A recent report also revealed that Apple will finally introduce a periscope camera with a higher zoom range in the 15 Pro Max. The upcoming top-tier iPhone is likely to offer up to 6x periscope zoom, which is much higher than the 3x optical zoom of the 14 Pro Max.

The phone might feature a 48MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP telephoto camera. For selfies, we can expect the phone to feature a 12MP front camera with autofocus support.
There will be a 6.7-inch OLED display with ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate support. The device is also likely to offer up to 2000 nits of peak brightness. As expected, there will be a Dynamic Island at the top centre.
