Apple is expected to introduce the next iteration of iPhones – the iPhone 15 series in September. The iPhone 15 series, similar to its predecessor, will consist of four models – the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. A couple of months ahead of the launch, a new report by ITHome has now revealed the battery capacity for the upcoming iPhone 15 series smartphones.
The report claims that the iPhone 15 will feature a 3877mAh battery which will be around 18% bigger than its predecessor. The report also suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be equipped with a 4825mAh battery unit, an increase of around 12% compared to its predecessor. Let us take a closer look at the details.
iPhone 15 Series Might Offer At Least 10% Better Battery Life Compared to Predecessors
The report, citing an insider at Foxconn, reveals that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature a 3877mAh and 4912mAh capacity battery respectively. Whereas, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro are tipped to launch with 3650mAh and 4852mAh battery capacities respectively.

The report reiterates that the iPhone 15 Pro models will be equipped with USB Type-C charging port. ITHome report further claims that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro base variants will sport 256GB storage. This means that we will not see iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max in 128GB storage options.

Apple is expected to use the A16 Bionic on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. However, the upcoming Pro models – the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are expected to get the announced A17 Bionic chipset. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will likely retain the Lightning charging port.
A recent report claimed that Apple will introduce a new Green colour option with the iPhone 15. This new colour option is expected to be available with iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus and not with the Pro models. Talking about the upcoming Pro models, the Cupertino tech giant is rumoured to introduce a new Crimson Red colour option. We can expect the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max to launch in the Crimson Red colour option.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are rumoured to feature a 48MP camera setup similar to the iPhone 14 Pro series. The iPhone 15 Pro series models are said to feature Titanium chassis and solid-state haptic and mute buttons. The iPhone 15 models are said to feature support for 15W wireless charging even with non-MagSafe chargers.
