- iPhone 16 Pro models will sport slightly bigger displays than the outgoing models.
- The iPhone 16 Pro Max is said to feature a display that is bigger than 6.8 inches.
- The iPhone 15 Pro Max is tipped to launch this year with a 6.7-inch display.
Apple iPhone 15 rumours have been on the web for quite a while. As we approach the rumoured September launch timeline, leaks and rumours about the upcoming iPhone 15 series have flooded the internet. Apple’s upcoming iPhones will include four new models. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are likely to get major upgrades compared to the non-Pro models. And in case rumours about the upcoming iPhones were not enough, a new report has now revealed details about the iPhone 16 Pro series. Apple’s 2024 iPhone models are likely to get bigger displays, according to Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants.
Young told MacRumors that the Pro models launching next year will have a slightly bigger display than the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. He initially claimed that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will sport a massive 6.9-inch display. However, later on, the DSCC top chief revealed that the display will actually be about 6.8x” tall. The iPhone 16 Pro, on the other hand, will sport a 6.2x” display, supposedly close to being a 6.3” panel.
In comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro is tipped to sport a 6.1-inch OLED display, whereas the iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature a 6.7-inch panel. The display size of the Pro models has remained the same for years. This is despite Apple trimming down the bezels around the display over the years by a few millimetres. In fact, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is said to have the thinnest bezels on any iPhone to date. The narrowing down of bezels while keeping the phone’s display size the same will result in the overall form factor becoming slightly smaller compared to the outgoing model.
Young has had a fairly accurate track record when it comes to Apple-related leaks. Therefore, it would not be a surprise if the leaked display details about the iPhone 16 Pro models are true, despite being over a year away from the expected launch timeline.
The next year’s iPhone is also said to get the rumoured solid-state buttons, which were initially supposed to be a part of the iPhone 15 Pro models. Apple reportedly ditched its plans to introduce solid-state buttons this year owing to technical challenges. We are over a year away from the launch of the iPhone 16 series. Therefore, very little is known about the 2024 iPhones. Meanwhile, a lot about this year’s iPhone lineup has leaked online.

The 15 and 15 Pro will sport a 6.1-inch display, whereas the 15 Plus and 15 Pro Max will sport a 6.7-inch panel. The 120Hz ProMotion feature will remain exclusive to the Pro models this year as well.

The 15 Pro Max is also said to get a new periscope camera with an optical zoom range of up to 6x.

There will be support for 20W fast charging, 15W MagSafe Charging and 7.5W Qi wireless charging. The upcoming iPhone 15 series will run iOS 17 out of the box.
