iQOO 11 5G with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC Confirmed to Launch on December 2

iQOO has confirmed the launch of its next flagship smartphone. The Vivo sub-brand has revealed that it will host the iQOO 11 launch event on December 2. iQOO will launch its new flagship smartphone first in Malaysia. It was previously expected that the iQOO 11 5G will launch in China alongside the Pro model next month. There is no word on whether the 11 Pro 5G will debut alongside the vanilla model.

iQOO has already confirmed that the upcoming flagship smartphone series will feature Qualcomm’s new flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Let’s take a look at the iQOO 11 5G specifications, features and other details known so far.

iQOO 11 5G Specifications 

The iQOO 11 5G will mark its global debut on December 2. It is expected to arrive in India in January 2023 alongside the 11 Pro 5G. The company has confirmed that it will launch the iQOO 11 5G as its Experience Day event.

The device could become the world’s first smartphone outside China to feature the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. There is no other brand which has confirmed to launch a flagship phone outside China with the new Qualcomm flagship mobile platform.

iQOO did not reveal any other specifications but is touting the device as the “king of gaming smartphones” in its invite sent to GSM Arena. The device is likely to feature the In-Display Monster Touch previously seen on other iQOO smartphones. iQOO also claims that its flagship will offer the fastest refresh rate and powerful battery life.

Some details of the phone have leaked in the past. According to the recently leaked specs, the iQOO 11 5G will sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution. The device is also said to feature an upgraded 144Hz refresh rate support. In comparison, the iQOO 9T and other flagship phones from the brand have featured 120Hz refresh rate displays.

The leaked design renders of the phone revealed that it will come with a triple-camera setup. It is likely to feature a 50MP main camera sensor with an f/1.9 aperture, a 13MP ultrawide camera and an 8MP portrait sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, the phone will come with a 16MP front camera. It is likely to feature the Vivo V2 ISP for improved lowlight camera performance and portrait mode shots. 

Under the hood, the phone has a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The device is also likely to run Android 13-based Origin OS 3 in China. Lastly, the phone is likely to launch in two colours — Isle of Man Edition and Track Edition. The device
