iQOO is working on a couple of smartphones for the global and Chinese markets. The brand recently confirmed that it would launch the iQOO Z7 Pro 5G smartphone soon in India. We recently spotted the vanilla iQOO Z8 and iQOO Z8X smartphones in the GeekBench listing. The listings have confirmed the key specifications of the upcoming smartphones. iQOO is also working on its upcoming flagship smartphone i.e. iQOO 12. A tipster previously tipped that iQOO might launch the smartphone by the end of 2023. Popular tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed some more specifications of the upcoming smartphone through a new Weibo post.
iQOO 12 5G Tipped Specifications
Digital Chat Station reveals iQOO will equip the upcoming flagship smartphone with an OmniVision OV50H sensor for the primary rear camera. The Omnivision OV50H sensor is a 50MP sensor with a sensor size of 1/1.28″ and 1.2μm pixels. The tipster adds that iQOO will use the Omnivision sensor since Vivo will equip the upcoming Vivo X100 with a Sony IMX 9xx series sensor.
The OmniVision sensor gets DCG technology, quad-phase detection (QPD) for better autofocus and supports 8K video recording. The tipster had previously confirmed that iQOO would equip the device with up to 1TB of storage in China. The smartphone is also likely to be equipped with 24GB RAM owing to the current trends in the Chinese smartphone market.
Under the hood, iQOO 12 would feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. iQOO is likely to officially announce the chipset details soon after the scheduled Qualcomm summit in October. The forthcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is expected to be equipped with an octa-core architecture.
The chipset will be equipped with a Cortex-X4 prime core, five Cortex-A720 cores, and two Cortex-A520 cores. Qualcomm will also equip the device with an Adreno 750 GPU to handle graphics. The smartphone is tipped to run on Origin OS based on Android 14 out of the box.
The tipster also confirms that iQOO would equip the smartphone with a flat display. The company is likely to equip the smartphone with an AMOLED display. The display will have a 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz.
iQOO is also tipped to equip the smartphone with a triple-rear camera setup. There is no information about the other camera sensors in the upcoming iQOO flagship smartphone. The smartphone is expected to be equipped with a secondary ultra-wide-angle lens and a tertiary telephoto sensor.
iQOO is likely to equip the device with a rear camera layout on the top left of the smartphone. The smartphone is expected to be backed by a large 5000 mAh battery. However, iQOO is likely to limit the fast charging capabilities of the upcoming smartphone to 100W.
