iQOO launched the iQOO 8 and the iQOO 8 Pro smartphones in China back in August. Both these devices feature an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and have a triple-camera setup at the back. These phones are not introduced in the Indian market yet and it looks like the company has no plans of launching these devices either in near future. The successor to the iQOO 8 lineup – the iQOO 9 series is tipped to in the work. While the China launch of the iQOO 9 lineup remains a mystery, we have details about the iQOO 9 India launch coming in courtesy of 91Mobiles.

iQOO 9 Tipped To Launch In India By February 2022

According to the information revealed by industry sources to 91Mobiles, the iQOO 9 series smartphone will launch in India by the end of January or early February 2022. As per the industry sources, at least one of the handset in the iQOO 9 lineup will support 120W fast charging. We can expect the brand to launch two devices in the iQOO 9 series namely the iQOO 9 Vanilla model and iQOO 9 Pro/Legend.

In a piece of related news today, iQOO also has confirmed that its next flagship smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which likely could be the iQOO 9 or iQOO 9 Pro. If the past leaks are to be considered, the iQOO 9 smartphone had appeared on the IMEI database. The IMEI database listing had revealed the model number of the device as V2171A. The specifications of both the iQOO 9 and the iQOO 9 Pro remain under wrap currently. However, one can expect these upcoming handsets to feature an AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, triple-camera setup, and a 4,500mAh battery.


On the software side of things, we also can expect these phones to run Android 12 out of the box. To recall the specifications of the iQOO 8, the device features a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a FHD+ resolution. The display panel display has a 120Hz refresh rate, 92.76 screen-to-body ratio, a pixel density of 398 PPI, and a 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the iQOO 8 Vanilla model is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The other specifications of the device include 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1, an in-display fingerprint sensor, face unlock, 120W fast charging support, 5G network connectivity, and a 48MP triple-camera setup.

On the other hand, the iQOO 8 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that has a QHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. The device is powered by Snapdragon 888+ processor. It packs up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The device features a 50MP triple-camera setup and has a 16MP front-facing selfie camera. The rest of the specifications which the iQOO 8 Pro offer include 5G, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port,  4,500mAh battery, 120W fast charging support, and 50W Qi wireless charging.
