
Vivo sub-brand iQOO has announced the Android 12 beta rollout for its smartphones in India. The performance-focused sub-brand from Vivo has a limited offering in the Indian smartphone market. iQOO offers the iQOO 7 series at its current flagship smartphone in India. The company is rumoured to launch the latest iQOO 8 series later this year. Meanwhile, the iQOO 7 series, which includes the iQOO 7 Legend and the vanilla model will get the new Android 12 beta update later this year. iQOO Android 12 beta rollout timeline
iQOO’s flagship smartphone, the iQOO 7 series, will be among the first set of smartphones to receive the Android 12 beta-based Funtouch OS 12 update. The two smartphones, namely the iQOO 7 and iQOO 7 Legend, will get the Funtouch OS 12 beta update based on Android 12 in December 2021.
The company will also roll out the beta update to its Z-series of smartphones. It currently offers two smartphones under the series, namely the iQOO Z3 5G and the iQOO Z5 5G. While the iQOO Z5 5G was launched last month, the Z3 5G was launched earlier this year. Both smartphones run Android 11 out of the box. These two devices are also confirmed to get the update in December 2021.
Lastly, the iQOO 3, which was launched in February 2020 in India, is also slated to get the Funtouch OS 12 beta update. While the wait is slightly longer, iQOO has promised to release the Android 12 beta update for iQOO 3 users in India in March 2022.
The company has not explicitly mentioned the number of changes coming to iQOO’s custom skin based on Android 12. It states that the new update comes with less bloatware and aims to offer a seamless user experience. We will share the updated list of Funtouch OS 12 features as and when announced.
